In our office we constantly seek new places for our team members to travel to, because we feel there is both a value and opportunity available. The opportunities presented to us by traveling of ones that sometimes cannot be found by simply staying in one location for fifty-two weeks of the year.
First and foremost, our office knows that by traveling to new places, our team members are also traveling to different markets. Each new market we visit is a chance to see a new culture and lifestyle. Based on this difference, it becomes a challenge to think about the most effective marketing methods to promote our clients. Markets like Chicago, New York, Detroit, Toronto, Cleveland, and Nashville all present the opportunity to sharpen our creativity and ability to adapt.
Traveling also presents an opportunity to network with fellow marketing professionals and entrepreneurs that our team members otherwise might never have had the opportunity to meet. By having the chance to sit with those who have been successful before us, we are given the chance to learn the keys to success and or validate the success skills we already have in place. For example, it was through business trips that our office started having our team members make daily goals for their professional and personal lives. Over time, this practice has proved very effective in reminding everyone of the big picture.
Finally, traveling provides the chance to relax and sight-see in new locations. After work each day, team members on business trips have the chance to sight-see at famous locations such as ‘Miracle Mile’ in Chicago, and the Space Needle in Seattle. This balance of work and play in a new city enforces a good work life balance, and provides some great photos for those of us back in Columbus.
While there are many additional benefits from traveling, in our office we hold these three as the big reasons for our team members to travel whenever they are able to. We hope that you are able to experience these same benefits in your own work and personal life!
